Is my Louis Vuitton authentic?
by Kimberly D.
I am very indecisive as to whether my Louis Vuitton is authentic or not and I was wondering if I can get your opinion on it. It was a gift to my mother that was given to her 25+ years ago.
I read your guidelines on how to spot a fake and real and took note of the specific things that you talked about.
Overall bag The monogram material is cut in a long piece that wraps around from the front to the back so therefore the view for the "backside" of the bag has the monogram upside down. There isn't any separate cuts at the bottom of the bag. And the bag tends to slouch in which I assume that since its a 25+ bag its bound to slouch.
Zippers The top zipper is labeled SKK, however, the zipper for the pocket inside is labeled K&K.
Inside Inside the bag, it seems to me that it's a brown/copper leather-suede.
Pocket Inside the bag, there is a pocket. I'm not sure what the material used inside the pocket is called, or what it's made of but it has a subtle gloss to it.
Stamp The stamp embosses the logo, Louis Vuitton, PARIS underneath and made in France underneath. The printing of this is a tad bit off. I also noticed that along the edges of this stamp it has a reddish "ink" color applied to it-I'm not sure if this has any significance.
Tabs The "tabs" at the sides of the bag has the same wording as like the stamp printed on these tabs.
Handles This reddish "ink" color is also applied along the edges of the handles, although some of it has been rubbed off by me unintentionally--there are still specs of this color present. I also noticed that in the time of my usage of this bag, the insides of the handles have become darker.
I also would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this, looking forward to hearing from you soon!
