La mode feminine
by sheryl ryen
We've recently been able to purchase some 42 separate portfolios (complete with original dust jackets) of mainly La Mode Feminine and some La Mode Masculine, by Jean Choiselat, Paris. They range from spring 1930 until the 1960s.
Each portfolio contains up to 16 individual hand tinted prints with some having an extra colour added by hand.
They are all fashion designs, some having drawings showing the details of how to cut the material to shape.
The are absolutely fabulous not only because they show the latest designs of the period but in the background, many have pencil drawings of cars, planes and much more.
I believe we have found an important collection of historic documents and wondered the best place to get these valued.
Any help gratefully appreciated.
